LASTMA bus crushes LAWMA staff •’No, it’s a truck driven by unknown driver’ - Nigeria Tribune

Barely a week that the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) vehicle killed a commercial motorcyclist at Ketu on Ikorodu Road in another vehicle belonging to Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has killed a staff of the state Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).
The slain woman was deployed in Ojota as a street sweeper but met her untimely death when the LASTMA bus ran over her while pursuing a commercial vehicle.
Consequently, LASTMA officials and commercial bus drivers abandoned their vehicles and escaped from the scene of the accident as sympathisers hurled curses on them.
The accident, which occurred at about 7.00a.m. threw Ojota community into confusion as residents and passersby ran helter-skelter.
Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune, an eye witness, Mr Olaitan Eretan, said that LASTMA officials were pursuing a commercial bus from Ketu area of the state when their vehicle crushed the woman who was busy sweeping the road.
However, another version of the story said the woman was ran over by a truck when its driver attempted to escape from LASTMA officials who had accosted him for flouting violating traffic rules.
