Ekiti govt is intimidating us, Arise, PDP cry out - source: Nigeria Tribune

The senator representing Ekiti North district in the Senate, Chief Ayo Arise, has accused the state government of using the instrument of the state to harass the people of his constituency.
Also the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that the state government and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) should stop the harassment and intimidation of the members of the party across the state.

 Arise, who is contesting for re-election to the Senate on the ticket of the PDP, while addressing newsmen in Ado Ekiti, on Wednesday, said the state-owned radio station, the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES), was announcing results of last Saturday’s botched National Assembly election, alleging that he was defeated in all the units of the constituency.
According to Arise, since the postponement of the election, thugs, who he said were hired by the ACN, had been terrorising the people of his community, adding that even the traditional ruler of Oye-Ekiti and many other supporters of the PDP in the town had been terrorised by the thugs.
