Post-election Protest: Fawehinmi Berates Buhari -source: Nigerian Thisday newspaper

Mohammed Fawehinmi
The son of the late fiery activist and lawyer, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, Mohammed Fawehinmi, has attributed the post-presidential election violent protests in the north which claimed lives and  properties worth millions of Naira to  Muhammadu Buhari's alleged inciting statement urging his supporters to "take what belongs to them by force."
Fawehinmi in a statement Friday said the statement credited to Buhari was allegedly responsible for some people taking up arms against innocent citizens perceived to be working against their interest. He declared that in any contest, there is bound to be a loser and a winner.
The head of Fawehinmi law Chambers who described Buhari’s attitude as purely military and condemnable in a democratic setting said: "It is necessary to remind Buhari that his speech after he had lost the election has caused disunity, disarray, disorganisation and incessant deaths among innocent citizens residing temporarily or permanently in the northern part of Nigeria.
"Your character as an elder statesman has been tainted by your advice to your supporters to take what belong to them by force."
He questioned the country’s former military head of state's integrity and love for his country despite  the support and followership he enjoyed during his campaign saying "where lies your willingness to protect, provide for and preserve the integrity and the unity of our great nation you desire to rule?
