SPURS fans have spent a month taking the mickey out of Arsenal for missing out on these Champions League quarter-finals.
But the Gooners had the last laugh as their former striker Emmanuel Adebayor was the arch-destroyer with a headed double in this Real romp.
Everything that could go wrong for Spurs did so here in the Bernabeu against the nine-times European Cup winners.
Then, Peter Crouch was stupidly sent-off for two yellow cards inside the first 15 minutes and the 10 men could not stem the tide.
Adebayor, the only Manchester City man to make it into this season's Champions League, joined Real on loan in January and reminded us he still has that scoring touch when he puts his mind to it.
The Togo hit-man headed No 2 on 57 minutes, Angel Di Maria smashed in a screamer in the 66th minute and Cristiano Ronaldo finished the show off with a volley four minutes from time. There is a second leg to come at White Hart Lane next Wednesday but there is only pride left to play for. They lost Aaron Lennon because of a mystery illness during the warm-up, and conceded Adebayor's first goal after five minutes.
